Vocal Education and Training Sector
Vocational Education Students registered in a Vocational Education and Training Course (VET) by an institute can apply for this visa. That essentially covers student enrolled in either of the following courses:
- Certificate I, II, III, and IV (except ELICOS)
- VET Diploma
- VET Advanced Diploma
- Vocational Graduate Diploma
Higher Education
Higher Education Sector applies to Students that are enrolled in a full-time higher education course at a University/ college or institutes in Australia. The following courses are covered under this section of visa:
- Education at undergraduate level at a University (Bachelor Degree) Programs for a postgraduate level at a university (master’s degree like MBA, MS, etc.)
- Post Graduate programs that offer a higher education diploma or superior diploma like PGDBM, etc.
- Post Graduate Sector
- This sector refers to students enrolled for Master’s degree in research Ph.D. degree
Australian Student Visa validity
As per the new guidelines, the validity of the visa would be following the duration of the course the student is registered in. Full-Time Study
Students registered in a full-time education program are only qualified to apply for a Student Visa under Subclass 500. Part-time and distance learning programs do not suit.
Genuine Temporary Entrant (GTE)

Health Checkup and Insurance

Good Character
Students are required to provide evidence of good character which certainly suggests that you do not have any illegal case against you and/ or you have never been dismissed from Australia before. Often, a simple statement of the same is accepted on the form.
