Do you want to study in the UK? IELTS can help you get there.
Over 600 UK universities and higher education institutions accept IELTS for proof of proficiency in the English Language. The IELTS test gives an accurate reflection of your ability to understand, read, write and speak English.
IELTS is also a test accepted for immigration of non-EU citizens by the UKVI (UK Visa and Immigration, formerly known as UK Border Agency).
All British universities and colleges accept IELTS Academic results. This means you may not need to take an IELTS for UKVI (Academic) test but can submit an IELTS Academic result. Before booking your test, make sure to check which test you need with the organisations you are applying to.
IELTS for UKVI - Academic and General Training
The IELTS UKVI Academic and General Training tests are suitable for you if you’re applying for Tier 1 and Tier 2 visas to the United Kingdom.
IELTS for UKVI tests are designed to meet specific administrative requirements outlined by the UK Home Office and are taken at a UKVI approved test centre.
The actual test taken is the same as IELTS tests for all other purposes and includes the same: content, format, scoring and level of difficulty. Test Report Forms will be slightly different in order to show that you have taken the test at an UKVI approved test centre.
